Week 1
Part 1
Think about what types of problems you have encountered on your job. How did you solve the problem? Did you ask questions first or just delve into the problem?
NOTE: Dont provide a personal problem but a work-related problem/challenge that you helped solve or a problem/challenge that you and a team of employees solved. Be specific considering the following prompts:
1. Provide the specific situation or scenario.
2. What steps were performed to think through the situation using critical thinking, more importantly, asking the right questions??
3. What was the final outcome and was the problem solved?
Response to for EXTRA CREDIT:
For this weeks discussion question I have chosen to focus on a particular problem that often tends to occur within my place of work, which is everyone is not on the same page. Almost everyday a problem arises between supervisors as to who is right within making an executive decision in regards to policy holders and their coverage. I feel as if all were trained in a different way and the procedures are not always right. We often seek to obtain the correct procedures from a manager and once confirmed we share the information via email to everyone in the department so that everyone will know the correct procedures should they ever run into the same issue. It’s often easily resolved without conflict.
Part 2
The discussion will focus on the biases learned from the Webtext. We all have biases but they need to be checked prior to solving any problems.
From the four (4) options below, choose one of the options below which are a few of the biggest problems in the world today, and think about your own biases including emotional biases) and how your biases can have an negative impact on coming up with a solution to the issue.+
1. Climate change and destruction of nature
2. Inequality income discrimination)
3. Government accountability and transparency/corruption
4. Safety/security/well being

Based on what you have read in the Webtext on arguments, write out your own argument that you would either deliver to someone in person or in writing. NOTE: Your argument needs to contain more than one sentence. Then identify the premise(s) and the conclusion.
Indicate whether your argument is deductive or inductive and explain your answer.

Example: Argument:
It is wrong for persons who do not receive a proper trail to be found guilty and sentenced to death.
