Please offer a response to the following prompts:
1) What are barriers to good communication between health-care provider and patient you have observed personally in the clinical setting or during the review of the asynchronous material for the IPE.
2) Reflect on an incident where a clinical experience or observation resulted in miscommunication impacting the patient-provider relationship. What efforts were made to resolve the miscommunication and repair the patient-provider relationship?
3) What steps did you observe were taken to improve collaborative decision making during the review of the asynchronous material for the IPE? If none were observed what would you recommend could have improved the health-care provider and patient relationship(s)?
4) How might this particular patient's attempts to manage the pain associated with their illness be further influenced (both positively and negatively) by social determinants such as: level of insurance, access to care, economic stability, access to transportation, levels of health knowledge/education and their personal support network?
5) Based on personal experience and/or your review of the asynchronous material, what other recommendations should be considered when working with persons with persistent pain and/or opioid use disorders?
