Please read the brief bio, the sermon explanations, and the sermon of Mary J. Small (I have attached)

Small is preaching this sermon a bit later, in 1898. It is post-emancipation, reconstruction has ended in the South, and Jim Crow laws are being implemented.

First, what does she see as the two main obligations of Black Christians in this new era of freedom? ( less than 100 wds)

Second, how do these two obligations tie into the rise of social movements during this period? (less than 200 wds)

Third, compare how Foote and Small understand Black Liberation based on their sermons (this is a BIG question so limit your response to just ONE way they see Black Liberation. Make sure you reference the lecture Part 2 where I specifically talk about Black Liberation as a primary purpose of Black women preachers) (less than 300 wds)

Finally, and briefly, does anything Small says bother you a little? Does it sit well with you? ( less than 200 wds)
