1. What is “gamification?” Why is gamification so motivating?
Gamification is the use of game-like components in life when it comes to work, school, social media, and even the well-being of people (Walter, 2021b) Gamification has been around for some time, but allows for people to learn more, have fun, and gain skills Gamification is motivating because it allows people to not only learn different things in an enjoyable way, it allows people to earn rewards such as “points, badges, and be on leaderboards” (Walter, 2021b) .
2. What are some important elements of gamification?
Some important elements of gamification are the fact that it can get people invested and interested in certain products (Walter, 2021a). People are more interested in knowing that they will gain something by using certain products. Another important element of gamification is that it motivates people and gets people involved (Gamify, 2020). Knowing and understanding that there are rewards, badges, and leaderboards gets people motivated and more involved in whatever they are doing.
3. What industries are using gamification to change behaviors?
There are many different industries that are using gamification to change behaviors. Industries such as schools, smartphone services, and jobs. Schools use gamification to make learning interactive and more pleasurable. Smartphone services use things such as fitness apps to get people up and moving. These apps remind people that exercise is important for health. Jobs use gamification to make the process of beginning easier and less stressful.
4. Use gamification to develop a plan to complete your final project or some other goal that is important to you.
When thinking of gamification, I think about school. A goal that has always been important to me is completing school and earning a degree. There have been times where gamification has been useful, an example is the app Kahoot. Using Kahoot helps me by testing my knowledge on certain topics that are used in my classes. It allows for competition, and when you get answers right your score goes up. It is a way to learn in an easy and exciting way.

What is “gamification?” Why is gamification so motivating?
Gamification is the process of using game mechanics, elements, and principles and applying them to non-game factors to engage users better, Businesses also apply gamification to employee training, recruitment, evaluation, and organizational productivity, other uses include physical activity, voter engagement, and customer loyalty programs. Gamification is motivation because of its intrinsic motivation, and this is the desire to enjoy the activities in the game, not for the reward of autonomy, competence, and relatedness.

Advergames are online video games that advertise a certain brand product, and the market has a message by combining it into a game template created for promotional purposes. Advergames are commissioned to support other media and not to replace them, this idea is to get more interaction with the property through the form of the game because the stronger it leads to better associations.

The goal that is important to me that I will be using gamification to develop is the fitness space (fitbit) to encourage myself to stay healthy and reach my daily goal.

What are the three types of revenue on an income statement? Explain each.
I enjoyed reading your answer to your question and liked that you explained the background information on the income statement before going over the type of revenue it covers. I think an income statement provides critical financial information for companies as it makes sure that they are on track with their finances. I also thought your explanation of each type of revenue income was straight to the point. I want to add some additional details on each of them related to healthcare. I thought the COVID-19 pandemic had affected healthcare organizations so much, and that is to include their financial account. I read in an article that a hospital in Providence had declared an operating revenue loss of $222 million due to the pandemic. The reason for it is that the hospital’s patient visits had decreased, which happened to all hospitals at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, it is due to increased expenses such as medical equipment/supplies such as proper protective equipment and increased salary budget for employees as they have to hire temporary staff to support the needs of the COVID-19 patients. However, their non-operating revenue of $307 million in investments balances out operating revenue loss (King, 2021). I thought that was an excellent example of how operating and non-operating revenue can be connected. Also, I was trying to look for more information about accrued revenue and could not, but I learned that long-term projects are an example of accrued income. So, I thought that when healthcare organizations commit to huge projects such as facility improvements, that could be accrued revenue (Tuovila, 2021).
